1.     Andriy Lunin (7/10): Lunin replaced an injured Courtois for the match. He played well in goal, made a few saves, but wasn’t tested much by the Barcelona attack. A solid game from the Ukrainian.

2.     Daniel Carvajal (7.5/10): Carvajal had a good defensive as well as offensive game. He did well defending Pedri and Ousmane Dembele and was also involved in good moments of pressing up the field.

3.     Eder Militao (7.5/10): Militao was responsible for a few great interceptions in defence. He fulfilled his duties in the heart of the defence, keeping the dangerous Lewandowski at bay.

4.     David Alaba (7/10): Making good interceptions, Alaba was key in ensuring the attack of Raphinha and Lewandowski wouldn’t pose a threat.

5.     Ferland Mendy (7/10): Mendy did an excellent job defending Rapinha and was a threat at the other end of the field, joining in terrorizing Barca’s weak right side.

6.     Luka Modric (7.5/10): The Croatian was excellent in midfield and showcased his usual display of passing accuracy. He was extremely comfortable with the ball at his feet and proved why he is still considered one of Madrid’s best players.

7.     Aurelien Tchouameni (6.5/10): Tchouameni played a more defensive role and looked comfortable, shielding the back four well and ensuring Barca’s midfield weren’t allowed to dictate the tempo of the game.

8.     Toni Kroos (8/10): The German was phenomenal in this match. His pass to create the first goal was perfectly executed. He dominated the centre of the park, outclassing Sergio Busquets, which is never an easy feat.

9.     Federico Valverde (8/10): Valverde scored an absolute screamer from outside the box, leaving the red and blue shirts stunned. He played a great game overall and showed good confidence. The Uruguayan really is showcasing just why he’s considered to be world class.

10.  Karim Benzema (7/10): The Balon D’Or winner looked sharp, pouncing on the rebound of Marc Andre Ter Stegen to score Madrid’s first. His movement created problems for Barca’s defence throughout.

11.  Vinicius Jr (7/10): The Brazilian had a decent game, though he couldn’t get his name on the scoresheet, it was his shot that created the rebound for Benzema’s opener.

Substitutes:

Marco Asensio, Antonio Rudiger, Eduardo Camavinga- NA

Rodrygo Goes (7.5/10): Rodrygo came on in the late minutes of the game, earned a penalty, then converted it himself, really solidifying his place as a supersub.
