Barca Player Ratings as they beat Atletico Madrid 4-2 to climb into the Champions League spots:

GK: MARC-ANDRE TER STEGEN (6/10): Could have done better for the first goal, however was helpless for the second. Distributed the ball well. Solid game for the German.

RB: DANI ALVES (5/10): Was excellent with a goal and an assist, but undid all his work with a silly red card that made life incredibly difficult for the Catalans.

CB: RONALD ARAUJO (7/10): Was a step behind Yannick Carrasco for the opener, but made up for it with a well-taken goal from close range. Was solid defensively.

CB: GERARD PIQUE (7/10): Continued his good form with another good display in the center of defense. Shut down the Los Rojiblancos attack well, and broke lines with his passes several times as well.

LB: JORDI ALBA (8/10): The left back was excellent, scoring an unbelievable volley for the equalizer and was a constant thorn in Daniel Wass’ side all throughout the game.

CDM: SERGIO BUSQUETS (6/10): Rotated possession nicely, and was stable and calm in possession. Not vintage from the Spaniard, but not bad either.

CM: PEDRI (7/10): How Barca have missed Pedri. Turned up in dangerous half-spaces throughout the game, was composed on the ball, and was part of some good moves.

CM: FRENKIE DE JONG (7/10): One of the Dutchman’s better displays in recent weeks. De Jong led Barca’s midfield in attack, playing some wonderful passes.

RW: ADAMA TRAORE (8/10): The Spaniard was excellent on his return to Catalonia, setting up Gavi for Barca’s second goal. Troubled Mario Hermoso on the flank to no end; it was his work that set up Barca’s equalizer as well. Barca’s period of trouble started when Traore was subbed off. (MOTM)

ST: FERRAN TORRES (6.5/10): A solid display from the young Spaniard. It was his touch from a miscued overhead kick that played Araujo onside for the third, though he blazed over from a great position. Did play Luis Suarez onside for Atletico’s second goal, however.

LW: GAVI (7.5/10): Barca’s pocket-sized dynamite had another solid display for the Catalans, playing well on the left side of Barca’s midfield. Scored a header to put Barca ahead, and set up Dani Alves’ goal with a good low cross.
