Carlo Ancelloti’s Real Madrid come into the 1st El Clasico of the season with a certain conviction. After Ancelloti’s take over, the men in white have shown no signs of slowing down. After unexpected losses to Sherrif Fc and Espanyol, Madrid put themselves back on track after a clear win over Shakhtar Donetsk. Recent performances on the Madrid side and the inconsistent performances on the Barcelona side make Real Madrid favourites for this Clasico.

Real Madrid Record(last 5 matches): WLLDW

Real Madrid Injured: Dani Ceballos(Ankle injury), Gareth Bale(Knee injury)

Questionable: Daniel Carvajal(Calf problems), Isco(Back trouble), Luka Jovic(Knock), Eden Hazard(Muscular problems), Karim Benzema(Court Trial).

Expected lineup:

Expected formation: 4-3-3

1.Goalkeeper:

Thibaut Courtois will start in goal for Real Madrid. He will remain a key part of the Madrid defense and will have to keep up his good form in this game as well.

2.Defense:

Madrid will most likely start with 4 men at the back. David Alaba and Eder Militiao would start in the heart of the defense. Lucas Vazquez would start as right back and will have to keep up with the young and fresh legs of the talented wonderkid Ansu Fati. Alongside Vazquez, Ferland Mendy would start as left back.

3.Midfield:

Real will most likely start with 3 midfielders. Casemiro will play as a central defensive midfielder and will play an important role in the overall movement of the game. Alongside him, Ancelloti will mostly start Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. Although both these players are ageing, they are arguably the 2 most experienced players on the Madrid side. Camavinga and Valverde would most likely come on for them in the later half of the game.

4.Attack:

The Madrid attack continues to impress through the amazing scoring chances which they create game after game. Vinicius Jr. seems to have finally broken through and looks consistent and dangerous on the left-flank. Karim Benzema might play as well. The Frenchman proves every game that age is just a number. He is currently the top scorer in La Liga and will be looking to get a goal or two (or even 3?) to his name. Rodrygo would start on the right-flank as well.

Prediction:

Real Madrid 3-1 Barcelona
