Our 4 Talking Points As Man City Beat Chelsea

1.      1. End Of The Drought- Manchester City have finally managed to beat Tuchel’s Chelsea. This                 moment calls for celebration in itself as City had previously lost every time the two teams faced off,     that too without scoring. Pep’s Man City have finally passed the Tuchel Test, and must surely now be     one of the primary contenders for the title.

2.      2. Joao Cancelo, You Beauty- The full back put forth an amazing performance by not only putting up     a commendable defensive performance, but he also created runs and played great balls for the                forwards. He was excellent and contributed heavily to secure the clean sheet against the strongest        opposition this team has faced so far.

3.      3. Chelsea Were too Passive- In this game it was obvious that Chelsea were unable to play their                normal football. Man City had managed to clamp up the Chelsea attack as evidently seen in the            game stats. Chelsea, one of the most attacking teams, were restricted to only 5 shots none of                 which were on target. Even with one of the best strikers in the world in Lukaku, Chelsea barely             showed any attacking presence.

4.     4. Grealish shows up once again- Jack Grealish is constantly proving that he belongs at Man City and      has had only good performances one after another. He managed to have an impact in the midfield         once again and was instrumental in the creation of many near misses and even more chances. With         this form he is a mainstay in a club spoilt for choices.

The game was won in the second half, with Barca netting thrice against the Yellow Submarine to capture all three points. Goals from Frenkie De Jong and Memphis Depay either side of an equalizer, followed by a Philippe Coutinho penalty ensured Barca's first win away from home. Here's what we made of it:  1. Yannick Carrasco gave Atleti the lead with a superb shot past Ter Stegen, before Alba equalized just moments later with a ridiculous volley from the edge of the box. Excellent work from new signing Adama Traore down the wing allowed Gavi to head Barca into the lead, before Araujo and Dani Alves volleyed in for Barca either side of half time. In the second half though, Atleti piled on the pressure, resulting in Luis Suarez pulling a goal back for the Los Rojiblancos on his return to Barca territory, before Dani Alves was sent off, reducing Barca to 10-men. Barca held out, however, meaning they leapfrog the Madrid side into a Champions League spot.
